LLANLLWCHAIARN CHURCH - oil on board - 6"x8"

In September many 'Church in Wales' churches will be having a OPEN CHURCHES DAY, the Parish church of Llanllwchaiairn will be one of these, along with ALL SAINTS - NEWTOWN.
The church above has above its door a date of around 1881(?) but there has been a church or settlement on this site [LLAN - Welsh for religious settlement] for hundreds of years before this date. Well worth a visit, especially because of its wonderful stained glass windows, by Morris, O'Connor & Gibbs.
There is are indications of worship taking place on this site back to Celtic times.
