It's lambing time here in Wales, even though the majority will be born in March. It is a great joy to be able to see so many creatures from our 'Inland Waterways'. They don't flood and rarely run dry because of their clever construction.
The swan pictured here had earlier had to raise its body high above the ice, to break through and move forward.
A few short strides along a canal restores life in the tired soul. More and more the sometimes muddy pathways are being made into all weather surfaces for cyclists, walkers, joggers and pushchairs (buggies).

Didn't realise there would be a private picture gallery attached to the website. Fantastic idea! I could spend a long time just browsing and thinking ... OK so that's what they're there for. What riches!
