Llanerchaeron - a place to easily pass by.

Posted by Picasa  An example of a self-sufficient 18th-century Welsh minor gentry estate designed in the 1790s, is the most complete example of the early work of John Nash having its own service courtyard with dairy, laundry, brewery and salting house, and walled kitchen gardens (with all its produce for sale when in season).
The pleasure grounds and ornamental lake and parkland provide peaceful walks. The Home Farm complex has an impressive range of traditional, atmospheric outbuildings and is a working organic farm with Welsh Black cattle, Llanwenog sheep and rare Welsh pigs. I can't remember how many years we have been driving past this building, which from the road looks like it might be a quick quarter of an hour 'see everything'. In fact we stayed for hours and have many things still to see on another occasion.
So if you are anywhere near Aberaeron [West Wales] and have a fine day to spare this could be a place for you. Over the next years it looks as though pathways are being cut through the woods, some very very steep ... a great challenge.
