IT LOOK LIKE WE MIGHT HAVE A TINY BIT OF SUMMER AT LAST

Posted by Picasa It's been a long time since we felt the heat of the sun. It looks as if at last I will be able to plant seeds. These photos were taken at the beginning of May in between showers. This week we are promised SUN and no frost, though there may well be snow in other parts of the country.

Is this the answer?

Posted by Picasa   Well, that looks better to me. Someone suggested going into the HTML and resetting the resolution of the photo image.

CHIRK CASTLE - North East Wales

Posted by Picasa Sorry guys - still haven't found out why my blog posts are now often blurred.
Click on them to see a better view, but still not best.

From Wikipedia some great info:
Chirk Castle (Welsh: Castell y Waun) is a castle located at Chirk, Wrexham, Wales.
The castle was built in 1295 by Roger Mortimer de Chirk, uncle of Roger Mortimer, 1st Earl of March as part of King Edward I's chain of fortresses across the north of Wales. It guards the entrance to the Ceiriog Valley. It was the administrative centre for the Marcher Lordship of Chirkland
The castle was bought by Thomas Myddelton in 1595 for £5,000 (approx. £11 million as of 2008). His son, Thomas Myddelton of Chirk Castle was a Parliamentarian during the English Civil War, but became a Royalist during the Cheshire Rising of 1659. Following the Restoration, his son became Sir Thomas Myddelton, 1st Baronet of Chirke.

PORTHGAIN West Wales - acrylic on canvas

Posted by PicasaToday is Bank holiday Monday - the weather should have been really terrible, but has turned out to be quite good. But because of the forecast we have stayed in, tidying the house etc. I decided later to go to Porthgain in my head and paint in a new way for a change.
I enjoy the work of Micah Mullen in the States, the subject just seemed to offer a good opportunity to experiment. It was most enjoyable playing with the perspective and balancing patterns, shapes and colour over the canvas.

SELF SUFFICIENCY -

Posted by PicasaI don't know why my photos are coming out blurred now on Google when at source they are sharp? This is another photo of Llanerchaeron showing its self-sufficiency ... Rabbits, Pheasants, Eggs, Fruit and Vegetables as well as Milk, Beer, Cheese and Meat of many kinds.

SHE IS QUITE HARMLESS!

Posted by Picasa  This is one of the surprises at Llanerchaeron along with the odd  dead rabbit.
I think this is most probably Mary Ashby Lewis ... find out more from the internet.
